Legal Disclosures

Copyright & Intellectual Property Claims

We respect the intellectual property rights of original artists, designers, and creators. Because our products include animated and video-based digital invitations and itineraries—an area where style overlap and AI-generated similarities are increasingly common—we take copyright inquiries seriously and follow a structured, evidence-based review process.

To prevent fraudulent, frivolous, or bad-faith claims, all copyright notices must follow the procedure below. We only review and respond to properly submitted claims.

How to Submit a Copyright Claim

If you believe content on our website infringes your copyright, you must submit a complete notice containing all of the following:

  1. Your Full Legal Name and Contact Information
    – Email address
    – Physical address
    – Phone number
  2. Proof of Ownership
You must provide credible evidence that you own the copyrighted work, such as:
    – Original working files (PSD, AI, After Effects, Canva build, etc.)
    – Timestamps or creation logs
    – URLs showing the work was published by you first
    – Any other verifiable documentation
  3. Exact Links to the Allegedly Infringing Content
Provide the direct URL on our site and a direct URL to your original work for comparison. General statements such as “your design looks similar” are insufficient.
  4. A Statement of Good Faith
You must include this exact language:
“I have a good-faith belief that the use of the copyrighted material described above is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
  5. A Statement of Accuracy Under Penalty of Perjury
You must include the following legally required statement:
“The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner or an authorized agent of the owner of the copyright.”
  6. Signature
A physical or electronic signature by the submitting party. Typing your full legal name is acceptable.

Where to Send Claims

All copyright claims must be emailed to:

📩support@hostessy.io

Claims submitted through social media, Etsy messages, customer support chats, or other channels will not be reviewed.

Our Review Process

Upon receiving a properly formatted claim, we will:

  1. Acknowledge receipt within 7–10 business days.
  2. Temporarily disable or hide the content only if needed during review.
  3. Request additional evidence if the submission is incomplete or unclear.
  4. Conduct a thorough investigation, including reviewing:
    – Internal designer files
    – Creation dates and logs
    – Asset licensing sources
    – Similarity thresholds and originality indicators

If the claim is valid, the content will be removed or replaced. If the claim is not substantiated with verifiable evidence, we may decline the request.

Misuse of Copyright Claims

To protect creators from abuse, we reserve the right to:

  • Reject claims that lack evidence
  • Reject claims that appear automated or AI-generated without verification
  • Reject claims based solely on theme, color similarity, or coincidence
  • Suspend future review privileges from individuals who repeatedly file invalid complaints
  • Seek legal remedies for knowingly false statements submitted under penalty of perjury

Important Notes

Because digital invitation design often uses shared tools, non-exclusive elements, and global design trends, the following principles apply:

  • Many elements used in digital invitations—balloons, bows, sparkles, icons, glitter textures, confetti, florals, gradients, stock footage, etc.—are non-exclusive assets available to all designers through Canva, Adobe, Procreate, and other software.
  • Using the same fonts, color combinations, layouts, or design software does not constitute copyright infringement. These are commonly used resources available to all creators and are not protected as exclusive IP.
  • Similar themes (princess, quinceañera, disco, luau, safari, retro, boho, etc.) often follow strong visual conventions. Overall style similarity alone is not evidence of copying.
  • We work with designers around the world. All contributors agree to create original compositions using legally licensed or original assets.
  • Copyright claims must demonstrate copying of original, protectable creative expression—not similarities resulting from stock assets, templates, common formatting, shared trend aesthetics, or AI-assisted variation.
  • If any issue is ever confirmed, we resolve it quickly, respectfully, and professionally.
